What Is The Lesson In Frustration?

Frustrated?

Frustrated?

A Course in Miracles daily lesson 193 states, “All things are lessons God would have me learn.”

I finally took another step into the 21st century when I bought an iPod. I thought, “I have arrived! I’m somebody now!”

Quickly and easily, I ripped 30 or more CD’s to my computer. There is a wonderful software program that gathers this information in an orderly and visually appealing way. Alas, it would not recognize my particular model of iPod. Who knew? (By the way, I didn’t make this discovery until after I had done all the preparatory work.)

I was forced to download the manufacturer’s software for this same purpose. I didn’t want to do this, because I am now taking up precious hard drive space with a duplicate program. Of course it recognizes its own brand of device, but it is not the nicely organized and visually appealing display I liked in the other software.

Mild frustration grew as I found that it could not locate most all of the colorful album covers for my music that the other program easily accomplished. As if this is not enough, it gathered information from the far-reaches of my computer and stuck it on my lovely, new iPod. I now have things I do not want complete with some duplicates, and I am missing things I just ripped! Arghhhh!!

How much more time will I spend until all is well with me? I will now have to delete everything I do not want and re-rip the missing music. I could celebrate another birthday before this is accomplished.

The question becomes: Can I step out of that frustration in order to see the lesson and learn from it? Without a doubt, that is my goal! In my experience, when I fail to see the lesson and learn from it, the universe happily sends another lesson my way.

So, rising above the battlefield, I see what I must do. I must forgive myself for lacking the computer savvy of a 15-year-old. I must breathe and call on my patience in order to figure out my next step. I must be flexible with what is and adapt to that other software.

Wasn’t it Scarlett O’Hara who said, “Tomorrow is another day!”

Rock on, my friends, rock on…
